The ancient art of wreath making symbolises the strength of life and overcoming the forces of winter. Using a seasonal selection of evergreens and other foliage, combined with dried botanical treasures, I’ll show you how to create your own unique winter wreath using traditional mossing and wire techniques.

Spirit of Spring

Spring has obviously not been in the mood to party this year!  The Beast and its friends have frightened it well away, so in an attempt to encourage it out of hiding, I will be at the Wee Fair, Tyninghame on Sunday 25th March to present “The Spirit of Spring”.  I will be featuring designs using locally grown Spring flowers that have survived the cruel weather of late and made a timely appearance!   If you’re planning a wedding or other special event soon and looking for beautiful, relaxed florals using seasonal flowers, then please come and chat to me at the Fair.

Nothing represents Spring more to me than a fresh bunch of tulips! My flower cart will be packed full of some gorgeous, unusual varieties, as well as daffodils and narcissi – so why not celebrate the clocks going forward and (hopefully!) the start of Spring by coming along to the Fair and buying some beautiful British blooms!

Wishing you a very happy 2018! I am so excited about the year ahead for Ode to Flora, and what better way to begin than with the launch of our new website. I hope you like it!

I must admit after the craziness of December I am looking forward to the calm of January and the opportunity to meet with some local growers. I can’t wait to discover what lovely flowers will be on offer this year! I am also really excited about working with some new specialist growers across Britain, who are passionate about the varieties they grow.

More and more flower farms are springing up nationally which is fantastic news for us and for you – more varieties, fewer chemicals, more insects, no air miles and most of all beautiful blooms that smell delicious!
