Ode to Flora has been born out of a passion for the art and beauty in nature. I am constantly inspired by the changing seasons and the colours, forms and textures of the natural landscape – a lichen covered branch; frost shrouded rosehips; an unfurling fern and, of course, flowers – from the simple wild daisy to the most exquisite rose.
I established Ode to Flora to offer creative and sustainable floral design that works in harmony with nature. I love to create theatre by bringing the outside in and very often incorporate foraged hedgerow elements and stems from my own cutting garden to add individuality. I embrace the imperfect beauty of nature, actively seeking out the quirky, bendy stemmed rebels of the flower world!
Beautiful flowers don’t need to cost the earth and this is the ethos of Ode to Flora. Provenance and sustainability are at the heart of everything I do, from where I source my flowers, to my packaging and floral mechanics. Whenever possible I will use flowers which are lovingly grown locally or on specialist farms across Britain. This means fewer travel miles, more variety, wonderful character and scent and, most importantly, no nasty chemicals.
